Another Oxbow Lake Example #frogs #camping #snakes
Oxbow lakes attract frogs and snakes. When the sun goes down snakes will come out to hunt frogs. Camping near an Oxbow lake puts you close to where snakes hunt.

Sawyer Mini - Will Never Buy Another One #prepping #waterfilters #shtf
Просмотров 1 тыс.3 месяца назад
After owning two Sawyer Minis, and Two Sawyer Squeeze, I will do my best to never buy another one. All four filters had the same problem - use them once or twice, put the filter into storage for a few months, and then when it's needed the filter does not work. Homemade Fire Starter Kit - Thoughts, Suggestions, Ideas?
Ive got a piece of rail about 4-5 feet long and 2 of those plates and im honestly considering the same thing but it will have two logs each one will basically be a leg
Do we need to dry them or remove the dirt before storing them? Thanks
Let me explain real quick. We've never been to the moon. We have nothing outside our solar system. There are no pictures from Mars. Now do you understand why your radio doesn't work? You've been lied to your entire life Kevin.
Try turning it upside down when you prime it I jerked mine today till I was sick remembered brother done this and it started right up
9 years later, this is the first thing i think of when i hear husqrvarna. Ill never buy anything they make.
Very resourceful! Highway clean-up can provide many valuable & useful resources. I am much older than you, but we seem to share many similar values. Several years ago while entering/exiting our hunting lease, I noticed a daypack in the ditch. Although it was empty, I recovered it & use it as a back-up day pack to be kept in another vehicle. After scanning through the variety of your videos, I was motivated to subscribe. My wife & I live on beautiful Weiss Lake in NE AL, which is known for its abundance of Crappie; if you ever in this area, you are welcome to fish from our pier or waterfront. I appreciate your investment of time & energy in sharing your videos with your viewers. Mya God bless you. The Old Preacher
First of all, I appreciate your inclusion of God's Word (Bible) in your kit. It serves as my Spiritual GPS & "...is a lamp unto my feet & a light unto my path,." . Your kit is similar to my Old School set-up except I prefer a topo map & compass to the GPS. In addition to the mirror I also include a good whistle. Bibles are heavy, so I try to include a compact version whose small print is hard on 83 year old eyes. However, a magnifier makes it readable & provides a supplemental fire starter. Perhaps I missed it, but did you have any means of water purification? Purification tablets are very light & require minimal space, but I also like having a metal container in which water can be boiled. My hunting day back is basically my year-round woods pack except for the extra ammo. Thank you for a clear & well-explained presentation. May God bless you & yours, as well as all your viewers & subscribers. The Old Preacher.
Good stuff man! Thanks
Those ponds are great Spring/Fall amphibian habitat and is part of forest health.
Hope to see a gardening video or two soon. Thanks for another video. Looking forward to many more
excellent advice, i always avoid these spots cause of the skeeters are so bad as well, thanks for sharing..

Good video man! Thanks
Thanks for another video Looking forward to many more
Lovely tips man, you presented this really nicely!
Thank you for the camping tips and how to stay safe
Curious how your figs are doing. I heard a nursery guy say drought tolernate only means it takes long to kill the plant.
Bought one of these in 2024. Not the brightest by todays standards, but it's a Surefire, enough said.
It is an immature coachwhip snake (Masticophis flagellum). That’s not a guess, I’m sure.
Yes it needs more water but it would probably be a good idea to get a shade cloth for when temperatures are above 95
Thanks!
You've already owned one before. Why'd you buy another one if it's no good.
I just installed the TSR200 sights on my 10/22, but I can't rotate the elevation dial on the rear sight, does anyone know what I need to do?
I had to get hinges for my 02. they are dealer only parts. $86.00 apiece.
Some constructive criticism my friend, you tend to ramble a lot and repeat yourself in this video. Some brevity might help with viewer retention. Cheers!
Any special permits needed to hunt there I scouted recently but unsure of the rules
Public hunting lands permit needed.
OSHA would shut him down!!!!!
I just carry bottled water
Love your content!
How did you make those self watering bottles? Do you have a video?
to prove your point, you could show your backflush technique with it, illustrating that it indeed doesnt work. Just saw the "proper" backflush technique sawyer shows african women to do, and they use it for decades without replacing. As it stands, I'm just assuming that youre backflushing wrong, and nothing is wrong with the filter.
Msr trailshot or befree works bette. The be free you shake it with a small amount of soap then flush it you can see the dirty fall off it then dry it. The be free bag does tend to rip over time but most running flasks also fit so I have a back bag because I go with soft flasks
This is probably the 3rd video I’ve seen lately talking about this. Glad I didn’t waste my money on it.
Good to know
Great for the garden!!!!
Had mine for years, taken it to the forest and jungle. Works flawlessly still.
A real high concealed chimney and induction cooktops in case the fuel for the rocket stove is wet or there are marauders and you can't get out to collect firewood.
Hey there. I have been using this little fellow for one year now as my main filter. Daily like 4-5 liters of water. Regular cleaning, and that's it. Best relation price-value. I should add I use it for tap water. That river is VERY muddy. No surprise the filter doesn't work. I usually let it work naturally and backflush it every two days or so with already filtered water. I would use it though for rainwater or try to get a cleaner water source.
Contractor grade bags cost like gold, but are worth it , because they can be reused over and over and over......
Good to know IMO those portable filters are just for weekend campouts and strictly emergency limited use. If it were a genuine SHTF, I'd be suspect of any surface water since it's so easily tampered with. These Squeeze and Grayls aren't going to take certain pollutants out. A more dependable (?) thing would be to prefilter any gunk and sediment with say coffee filters or clean cloth and then chemically treat for pathogens If you're trying to E&E, you don't want a fire for boiling. At your safe place, I'd boil and treat. Good Luck everybody Thanks for the video❤ Looking forward to many more
The he Grayl Geo press are pretty good filters. Expensive and don’t filter near as much as other filters claim but they are fast filtering and simple to use.
They are good until storage, I think it's calcium buildup inside when dry. I keep some as spares. If you want better filtration then look at the katadin pump filter or if they ever allowed to sell again is the Berkey
I'm just glad you're fireing up more videos lately! Thanks
I agree regarding the mini, got one, it worked great maybe three times ? Then the flow rate was insanely slow, to the point where it was just useless. I will say, I’m in my second Sawyer squeeze and it’s great. No issues at all, backflush after every outing, very good flow. Peace ✌️
So these things are pretty much single-use.
Very good to know.
Put a surplus waist pack under the patrol pack and you could carry a TCOP tent for an overnight camping trip!
